We will be recording a one-off Edinburgh special for Radio 4 at The Pleasance on Wednesday, 16th August at 7.45pm. We will then be trying to pack in a whole festival's worth of drinking in one night. Moving to MySpace

We've now got a MySpace page (www.myspace.com/thehollowmenuk), which has got some clips of the TV show on it, as well as some delightful pictures. I'm going to add some clips from the forthcoming radio show and possibly some of the unaired TV pilot too (gasp!). What are you waiting for?

One Hot Minute

Well, the Radio 4 shows are now all in the can and, despite the fact that they were taped in possibly the sweatiest conditions in which a comedy show has ever been recorded, they sound pretty good. Heinrich the German horn player seems to be a particular favourite. Thanks to all who came down to watch. The series will air some time in October - exact details to follow. If you can't wait that long for hot Hollow Men action, you should be able to hear sixty seconds of us on Radio 4's '28 Acts in 28 Minutes', this Wednesday 5th July at 6.30.

Radio 4 Tickets

We will be recording our Radio 4 series on June 5th and June 12th at The Drill Hall in central London. If you click on the link above you can apply for FREE tickets to the taping from the BBC. We'll be recording four half hour shows over the two recordings, which will be aired sometime in October (exact dates to follow). Over the course of the four shows we aim to tell the life story of Alfred "Lord" Tennyson, inventor of body-popping, exclusively through the use of the BBC's extensive sound effects archive. Stay tuned.

Thank you caller

Thanks for the feedback and that. I'll get down to sprucing up this site shortly, perhaps with some nice pictures and that.
You may like to know that we start writing the radio series in a few weeks time. We'll let you know when the recording dates are going to be, and at the moment it looks like it's going to go out in early October. More news soon...
And Ian, thanks for your support. I couldn't do it without you.

An insomniac writes

I thought I'd do my bit as far as maintaining this blog goes. So I've changed the colour of the bar at the top (it's now "tan"), and I've got rid of the listings for all the gigs that we did six months ago. There we go.
However, as far as blogs go, I realise that this one is still pretty thin. So, the time is right for an overhaul - I'd like to jazz it up, but I'm not sure how best to do it. Plus, the four of us are pretty technically incompetent. So, we'd welcome any suggestions. How can we make it look nicer? Which blogs / pages should we link to? What For God's sake. what do you want??
I throw it open to you, denizens of the world wide interweb. Let us know your thoughts.

I give up. I'm very tired. Sorry.

Hollow Men in 2006

OK, this blog has been inactive so long it seems to have vanished. I'm hoping this post will resurrect it.

So the Hollow Men will not be returning to Comedy Central in 2006 (boo!). However, we will be recording our debut series for Radio 4 ('ray!). We begin writing the four half-hour shows this month and we're scheduled to tape them towards the end of May. We'll be sure to post air times here as soon as we have them. I believe we are currently due to go out in the 11.00pm slot, though we do not yet know what day.

Montreal

I think we meant to update this blog much more frequently in New York. Unfortunately, we became too busy enjoying the delights of the greatest city on earth. And drinking. Oh, and doing the shows too, which went very well. Thanks to all those who came to see us. Particularly the strange shrieking lady. And the young kid who laughed at all the dark stuff when noone else would because they were too freaked out by the kid laughing. Thanks to everyone at WestBeth for helping us put on the show and for showing us (too) good a time. Look out for more WestBeth shows at the Village Theatre and elsewhere (Dave Gorman, Dylan Moran, possibly the League of Gentlemen).

We flew to Montreal Sunday morning in a tin can masquerading as a plane. Sam and Nick were sitting next to the exit and supposed to be 'responsible' in an emergency. Thank Christ there wasn't one as we could barely string two sentences together, let alone act calmly and rationally whilst plunging to our deaths. First show at Club Soda in Montreal tonight, then headliners at Cabaret on Wednesday, followed by Britcom Gala (and our biggest ever gig) on Thursday. All in French, natch.
